Want a peek into my garden?
Welcome to my garden!
Besides the beach and the studio, this is where I spend most of my summer days.
After I got married, I moved to Connecticut and into the house that Brett owned.
Believe it or not, this house’s yard didn’t have one flower, shrub, or tree!
It was one long field of green, which I wasn’t a fan of. I missed my NH garden so much and decided to look at our yard as a great big blank canvas, filled with possibility.
I was still fairly new to gardening and started with one garden bed and a dappled willow tree (you can see it on the right. It needs a little pruning🙄). To this day that tree is still my favorite. We keep it shaped like a pom pom, and it turns the most amazing flamingo pink in the early spring, which is spectacular!
This was the first bed I created.
I love the birdbath and watching the birds that gather there.
The lady’s mantel in the front is one of my favorite plants for posies. The dainty chartreuse flowers make a great filler in a vase. I also love how the rain collects on the velvet leaves. SO pretty! The cute flowers are made out of old faucet turns. Clever!
Peonies, iris, and astilbe, oh my!
The white iris are very fleeting, but I love them so much!
It’s so hard to choose, but if I had to pick a favorite flower, it would probably be my peonies.
I have 6 different varieties in all shades of pink, peach, and a white one, which I hope will bloom someday. It’s incredible how they start out as a tiny dot and open into such lush magnificence almost overnight.
They make me SO happy!
I l’ve clipping flowers early in the morning before it gets too hot. I love filling my house with little flower posies with what’s in season.
This is my favorite colored peony. It’s called, “Coral Charm” and the color shows up a lot in my paintings.
I love the soft texture of the spirea plants with the boldness of the fuchsia peonies in our front garden.
We added a white picket fence, which gives us some privacy.
I found this sweet little Buddha at the Brimfield Antique Show.
He looks so peaceful to me.
I’m always looking for little features to add to the garden for an unexpected touch of whimsy.
I like to help the pollinators in my garden, and I added this cute little bee house this year. I put together a wonderful list of helpful tips for creating a beautiful garden with easy ways to attract pollinators to your garden.
They will help you create the most beautiful garden.

Every year we add something new to the garden.
We started with this first patio, and then as the garden grew, we added a pathway and a second patio that leads to
our fire pit.
Both areas make great places to gather with friends and family.
We host the most lovely wine parties in the garden.
It looks so magical being outdoors in the evenings with the bistro lights, candles, and fireflies.
Just behind Brett’s shop is the Poquonnock River where we have our docks.
The river takes us to Bluff Point State Park, and my favorite beach. I’m so appreciative of how easy it is for us to get there and never take it for granted.
A vintage cooler, my favorite chardonnay, flowers & flip flops are all this
summer girl needs.
This is my favorite boat that we’ve owned.
It’s an Amesbury Dory. It has a flat bottom that allows us to get in and out of the river even at low tide. It gets used from early spring until the first frost. Brett painted the inside a gorgeous sea foam green for me that makes my heart sing! The seagrasses create a lovely backdrop.
I’m a big fan of outdoor spaces and back porch living.
This porch has had many evolutions and currently has a beachy-boho vibe.
Good food, good wine, good conversation & good friends, ALWAYS.
This is a little sign/mantra I made for our guests.
Gathering little flower posies is one of my greatest joys.
There’s something magical about combining whatever’s in bloom—following color, texture, and instinct.
These tiny arrangements often mirror the palettes in my paintings, guiding my creative process and sparking new inspiration in the most beautiful way.
Which one is your favorite?
Thanks for visiting my garden and sharing my
love of flowers & nature with me!
Leave a comment and let me know what your favorite flower is, and feel free to ask me any questions.

P.S. I could probably photograph the garden three or four times, and it would always look different. The beautiful thing about watching a garden is how much it changes from day to day. I think this is what makes having a garden so rewarding.
